The Ayr-Paris Band Parades

The Ayr-Paris Band is known for many things, but we are most recognized for marching.  Every season offers events, celebrations and reasons to hold a parade, and chances are that if it's in our area, we're in it.

We have a long history in our neck of southern Ontario with parading.  We've been 'The Clown Band' at Christmas in half a dozen parades a year for many years.  We've participated in the Toronto St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Kitchener Oktoberfest Parade so long they're now traditions.

Some of our favorites are the small community parades -- the streets lined with people we recognize because someone in the band lives in that town.  Drumbo, Woodstock, Brantford, Paris, Ayr, Kitchener, Bright and Guelph are all towns that know The Ayr-Paris Band from it's regular performances.

We also have performed in some very unique locales -- a music festival in Mullingar, Ireland, a military tattoo in Kingston, Ontario and the Calgary Stampede to name a few.  Below are some parade pictures of us in action.

Every October on the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend Monday, the Ayr-Paris Band gathers to march in the Oktoberfest Parade.  This huge event is a major part of the 2 week celebration held in Kitchener each year, and the street are lined several people deep the entire parade route.

If you like Oktoberfest music, this is the place to hear it -- bands from all over Ontario and from as far as the US play favourites for the crowds. It's certainly a festive day!

If you look closely you can make out some of the band members in their clown suits -- our uniform of choice on those frosty winter days!  A long tradition, being clowns lets us wear warm clothes under the suits, but also to have some fun with the parades.  We're sure to get attention dressed like this!
